10Life: Spring turns in the Winds before it’s gone

#10life is County 10 series to share and celebrate everything that’s great about local life in Fremont County, brought to you by RE/MAX All-Star, Realtors.

The Hamilton’s have shared some great photos and videos with us over the last few weeks. They have given us a few minutes away from our everyday life right now that for most could be a complete 360° to our “normal.” Thank you, Shad, Amanda, and Seamus for taking us with you on your journey in the backcountry, and for showing is how great #10Life truly is!

A little snippet of info about the first video below:

Shad Hamilton takes advantage of social distancing and a 32 inch April dump to ski a line that has been on his bucket list since he built his cabin eight years ago. “Really, for the last decade, I’ve hiked, run or ridden by this line, I don’t know how many times a year, thinking… this looks like a killer ski line. For whatever reasons, the ski gods seemed to have blessed me with an opportunity to have a whack at it after work this evening. I took it! It was pretty damn cool. I skied light and careful. Took a few scratches… but no core shots. It was awesome! Twenty years from now, when it takes me three hours to get up the trail, I can tell my grand kids… “I skied that!”… video proves it too!” I love the Wind River Range, Lander, and Fremont County!” Alive in the Super Unknown! That’s all you need to focus on during these times!

A little info about the second video below. Side note from Shad: His dad Les Hamilton plays the fiddle in the second tune in the video below.

Shad Hamilton tours around his cabin in the Wind River Range above Lander, Wyoming. The thirty-two inches of snow that fell a few days ago has settled a bit, but a whole new world of potential ski lines are still available. Not too can one ski onto their porch. It happens. Just not too often.
