This afternoon, those grabbing a quick bite at McDonald’s in Riverton were treated to free apple pies from the Darnell Family.

The Darnells, from Illinois, have been stranded in Riverton for the last four days during RV repairs. They were on their way to Yellowstone with a large group. The rest of the group traveled on while the Darnells waited here for repairs.

Stopping into McDonald’s with their two children to play at the Playplace, they decided to buy apple pies for everyone in the store at the time. Why? To say “thank you” to Riverton.

So we decided to help them get the word out 😉

“Riverton has been so wonderful. What a great place, the people have been so amazing. For us, today is a day to give back a little to your community.”

They were especially thankful to the guys at High Mountain Towing from the Kemmerer area. Apparently, the tow truck struck a cow in the highway. So, Great Divide Towing from Lander was called in to get the truck home and the RV to Riverton for repairs.

Instead of being frustrated, the Darnells found Riverton a great place to be stranded.
