    #10Life: Basketball, steamed corn, waterblast and so much more at the 2020 Shoshoni Days

    Update at 8:35 pm on April 16th: The Wind River Flywheelers Board made the decision to cancel earlier today, April 16th. All other events are moving forward as planned.

    Take a moment, close your eyes and imagine the snow has melted, the grass is green, and the warmth of the sun is all around. Are we all there? Okay, keep that in mind and jump to June 12th-14th for the 2020 Shoshoni Days. This year’s weekend-long event is bigger than before with several new events and activities planned for all ages.

    Kicking-off the weekend is the co-ed basketball tournament beginning Friday, June 12th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Saturday the 13th is jam-packed with a pancake breakfast, ATV poker run, bake sale, basketball, waterblast, and so much more. The weekend is planned to wrap-up with a “turkey” shoot at the gun range on Sunday afternoon.

    Organizing the weekend’s events is the Shoshoni Chamber of Commerce. Their hope is by diversifying Shoshoni Days events they can bring in more folks with a variety of interests and of all ages, shared organizer Jordan Whitener. “We want to have events for everyone.” Jordan also noted a big “thank you” is in order for the Chamber’s members and businesses that have partnered to help with this event as well as the Shoshoni High School for the basketball tournament.

    While several local events have been canceled or postponed over the next few months due to the current circumstances and the unknown. Jordan confirmed they plan to keep moving forward with current dates and events. They will adjust as needed.
