Early morning snowfall totals highest along Wind River Range; At least 20 inches measured in Sinks Canyon
(Riverton, Wyo) – The National Weather Service in Riverton reported snowfall totals around the region as of 9 p.m. Monday night in the chart below. At 7 a.m., the NWS reported unofficial snowfall totals as deep as 20 inches in Sinks Canyon south of Lander and from 12 to 15 inches in the Lander area. Snow continues to fall in those areas. The greatest snowdepth in Riverton was reported at 10 inches by a weather observer in downtown Riverton and four inches at the airport, where blowing snow made it difficult to gain an accurate snow depth total.
