RMS students started classes in a non-traditional way Monday

(Riverton, Wyo.) – Monday was the first day of school for middle school students in Riverton, and boy did they get a surprise. Instead the first day lectures, rules and procedures, teachers prepared special and fun lessons.  “It is a really positive way to start the new school year,” said Assistant Principal Brant Nyberg. This special day was called an “A Day.”

RMS Summer School Students suggest uses for Tonkin Stadium

(Riverton, Wyo.) – When Summer School students at Riverton Middle School talked about a plan that had been advanced for a dog park at the venerable Tonkin Stadium on high school hill, a few of them thought something more appropriate for kids would be a better idea. As an exercise, the students were challenged to come up with their own ideas, and they did.

One dozen RMS students chosen for Citizenship Award; Honors given out Wednesday

(Riverton, Wyo.) – Twelve Riverton Middle School students were awarded the RMS Citizenship Award Wednesday, May 28. Students were chosen by their teachers for being respectful, disciplined, involved positively in school activities, friendly, fair and courageous. These students are known to do the right thing and be a leader even when it is not the popular choice.

CWC Student Ambassadors helping with food drive for Riverton Middle School; Peanut butter and Jelly requested

(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Student Ambassadors at Central Wyoming College are helping Riverton Middle School in their annual food drive this fall. The Student Ambassadors are responsible for collecting jars of peanut butter and jars of jelly. The drive ends this Friday.
