(Riverton, Wyo.) – Riverton Middle School eighth graders Hannah Hutson and Syonia Jordan were named first and second place winners of the statewide writing competition The Cost of Freedom. The first annual competition, sponsored by Warren Federal Credit Union, was aimed at promoting the importance of military service to Wyoming’s youth.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Riverton Middle School Science Olympiad students are now three-time state champions following this year’s state competition held last month in Casper. Over a dozen schools from around Wyoming participated in this year’s event. To qualify for nationals a team of 15 members need to place 1st at state.

(Riverton, Wyo.) – It’s a tradition that began a number of years ago of providing foodstuffs for Riverton Middle School students who ordinarily would not have enough to eat over the school’s Christmas and New Year’s break.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – Monday was the first day of school for middle school students in Riverton, and boy did they get a surprise. Instead the first day lectures, rules and procedures, teachers prepared special and fun lessons. “It is a really positive way to start the new school year,” said Assistant Principal Brant Nyberg. This special day was called an “A Day.”
(Riverton, Wyo.) – When Summer School students at Riverton Middle School talked about a plan that had been advanced for a dog park at the venerable Tonkin Stadium on high school hill, a few of them thought something more appropriate for kids would be a better idea. As an exercise, the students were challenged to come up with their own ideas, and they did.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – Twelve Riverton Middle School students were awarded the RMS Citizenship Award Wednesday, May 28. Students were chosen by their teachers for being respectful, disciplined, involved positively in school activities, friendly, fair and courageous. These students are known to do the right thing and be a leader even when it is not the popular choice.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Craig and Susan Thomas Foundation today honed Cody Myers with the Craig Thomas Leadership Award before an assembly of students at Riverton Middle School. Myers serves as the Riverton Police Department’s School Resource Officer.

CWC Student Ambassadors helping with food drive for Riverton Middle School; Peanut butter and Jelly requested
(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Student Ambassadors at Central Wyoming College are helping Riverton Middle School in their annual food drive this fall. The Student Ambassadors are responsible for collecting jars of peanut butter and jars of jelly. The drive ends this Friday.

How do Riverton Middle School 8th graders celebrate the end of the year??? With foam! This photo of the day for Thursday May 31st comes from Jacob Wildcat, the foam party took place Wednesday afternoon at Jaycee Park. About 180 8th graders took part in the celebration which also included a cookout. The Fire Department stopped by this end of the year party to provide the foam. Thank you for the pictures Jacob, sure does look like fun!
