(Riverton, Wyo.) – Riverton High School Glass Art Teacher Marianne Vinich was chosen to be Wyoming’s Secondary Art Teacher of the Year following the 2013 Wyoming State High School Art Symposium in Casper. “This award is issued to a outstanding teacher who was nominated by a member and voted by the organization,” said WSAE President Jason Linduska. She was nominated “for outstanding service and dedication to the WSAE and to her students,” he said.

Vinich has served the WSAE publicity liaison for several years. Linduska said the liaison position gives reconnection to the Art Symposium and recognizes the talent and seriousness of Wyoming’s students to the public. “She also has created one of the first public school glass classes that has encouraged the overall growth of glass as a medium in the state of Wyoming,” he said.

In a notification letter sent to Dr. Joanne Flanagan, RHS principal, Linduska said “the WSAE is very honored to have Ms. Vinich as a member of the WSAE and proud of all her accomplishments within the organization but most importantly with her students.”
