Commissioners to set mill levies today; meet in regular session Tuesday

(Lander, Wyo.) – The Fremont County Commissioners will meet twice this week, to set county mill levies and meet with elected officials in a work session today starting at 10 a.m., and its regular weekly meeting Tuesday starting at 9 a.m. In Tuesday’s meeting, the board will hear a Transportation Department update from Dave Pendleton and planning commission recommendations on the Upper Meadow, Evergreen Furrows and The Bus subdivisions and a replat of two lots in the Buckhorn Country Ranchettes.

Pioneer Village Day entertained visitors at Museum of the American West in Lander

(Lander, Wyo.) – The Museum of the American West hosted Pioneer Village Day Saturday at the museum site on West Main Street. A steady stream of visitors came by to see living history, a petting zoo, wood carving, quilting and more. The event was even more festive this year as the site was decked out in finery for a wedding to be held later in the day. The Pioneer Association also was cooking up hamburgers and there was a dutch oven dessert.

Woman found dead on Table Mountain identified as Lander resident Renee Ostlund

(Riverton, Wyo.) – Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan Saturday identified the woman found dead on Table Mountain Friday morning as 58-year-old Renee Ostland of Lander.  McAuslan said preliminary results from a Saturday morning autopsy are being withheld until he has a chance to discuss the findings with Ostlund’s family. However, McAuslan said a handgun was found next to the body and he indicated Ostland had suffered a gunshot wound.
