Fremont County Fire Protection District continues to recover along with its two Deputy Chiefs and past firefighter and FCSO Deputy from injuries sustained at the fire on Sept. 10, according to District Chief Craig Haslam.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – A Fremont County Fire Protection District firefighter, whose identity has not yet been released, is at a Denver burn center today after being injured in a grass/structure fire Thursday afternoon.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – Fremont County Fire Protection District Chief Craig Haslam reported this morning that a fire yesterday afternoon just after 3 p.m. totally destroyed a single-wide mobile home on Reece Road, northwest of Riverton off of 8 Mile Road.
(Hudson, Wyo.) – The newest Fremont County Fire Protection District Fire House is now taking shape in Hudson. The three-bay $1-million facility recently broke ground and the foundation has now been poured.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – Four Battalions from the Fremont County Fire Protection District responded to a fire that totally destroyed a barn in the 500 block of North Hidden Valley Road between Riverton and Shoshoni on Sunday morning.
(Jeffrey City, Wyo.) – A wildfire burning south of Crooks Mountain south of Jeffrey City was reported this afternoon. United from the Bureau of Land Management, the Jeffrey City Fire District and the Fremont County Fire Protection District are responding. Thick black smoke is reported being generated by the fire, which is south of the Continental Divide in a draw off of Happy Springs Road.
(Midvale, Wyo.) – The Fremont County Fire Protection District (FCFPD) Battalion 8 Fire Hall at Midvale moved into the electronic age in a big way today when it’s new Wireless NextGen System was turned on. In addition to providing service to the fire district, customers of Wyoming.com in the area will also benefit from faster connection times and more reliable Internet service, said Chris Robisch, the director of sales, marketing and public policy for the Riverton-based Internet service provider.
(Midvale, Wyo.) – The dedication and open house at the new nearly 10,000 square foot, almost $1 million Midvale Battalion 8 Fire Hall was held today, with a nice turnout from the community. Fremont County Fire Protection District Chief Craig Haslam acknowledged the community efforts that led to the establishment of the fire hall here over 40 years ago. Current Battalion 8 Chief Rocky McWilliams recognized current and past firefighters and Wyoming State Fire Marshall Lanny Applegate extended his congratulations to the fire district for its continued upgrade of county fire battalions.
(Crowheart, Wyo.) – Another Fremont County family is suffering from the loss of their home from a fire on Tuesday. A trailer home in Crowheart was a complete loss after a fire was reported there at about 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon.
(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Fremont County’s two newest fire stations at North Portal and Midvale will be celebrating open houses in the next two weeks while one fire battalion will be noting it’s 50th anniversary.
(Lander, Wyo.) – A number of grass fires around the county this afternoon have kept firefighters hopping in Lander and near Fort Washakie.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – Riverton Mayor Ron Warpness told the city council last week that the city has been approved for $256,500 in county consensus funds for two projects.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – A good delegation of Fremont County Firefighters and emergency management personnel attended the WYOFIRE training held last weekend in the Black Hills. The delegation included both trainers and trainees.
