#snapped: Wolf tracks near Lander
Rob Doane recently posted this photo on the facebook page “Wyoming Through the Lens” and it has caught the attention of many locals. Rob said that he and his wife were walking on Shoshone Lake Road this past Saturday when they came upon these wolf tracks.
Wyoming Game and Fish Large Carnivore Conflict Coordinator Brian Debolt took a look at the photo and confirmed these are indeed wolf tracks. “Shoshone Lake Road is a very common spot for wolves,” he said. In fact, the Fish and Wildlife Service collared a wolf near there earlier this year. Debolt noted wolves are of course a threat to pets and livestock and there have been depredations in that area in recent months.
