(Lander, Wyo.) – Planes participating the 50th annual Hayward Air Rally are still arriving at Lander’s Hunt Field Airport. As of 11:30, about 20 planes had arrived, and more than 35 were expected to participate.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – Captain Eric Murphy said the police department has been receiving numerous complaints since Fairground Drive was closed to only northbound one-way traffic on Thursday. He also said one officer was on the receiving end of an irate motorist who berated him for being inconvenienced by the change.
(Cody, Wyo.) – A Michigan man was airlifted from the Robinson Creek area on Thursday evening after suffering an unknown medical emergency. Paul Jefts, age 60 from Big Rapids, Michigan was fishing with friends when he became ill. Robinson Creek is located approximately 20 miles from the Cabin Creek Trailhead at the end of the South Fork Road. The area is due west of Hardluck Mountain.
(Lander, Wyo.) – Deputies arrested 42-year-old Gabriel Moss of California and 41-year-old Valda Evans of Montana both on charges of DWUI alleging they operated the same vehicle while intoxicated.
(Jackson, Wyo.) – Silicon Couloir and Central Wyoming College have partnered to bring the third session of the Start Up Institute to Jackson in the fall of 2014. The Start Up Institute is an intensive entrepreneurship program designed to provide participants with proven tools, frameworks and skills that winning companies utilize to launch successful business ideas. It’s a hands-on, experiential and practical course focused on helping individuals work on and launch their business ideas.

(Riverton, Wyo.) – Initial court appearances can be routine where a defendant is advised of their rights, given the opportunity to be represented by a lawyer, have the charges explained, determine if there is a basis for the charges, a bond is set and a preliminary hearing scheduled. But Thursday’s initial appearance for a 23-year-old man charged with two counts of kidnapping where it is alleged he abducted a 9-year-old child from her bed was anything but routine.
