FCSD1 Trustees adopt 2014-15 budget with deficit; Former business manager raised concerns

(Lander) – Business Manager Travis Sweeney presented the Fremont County School District #1 Board of Trustees with the 2014-15 budget at its meeting Tuesday evening. The budget has a $235,000 deficit; however, Mr. Sweeney told the Trustees that even if the actual expenditures do exceed revenues by that much this year, the district will have a 13.2% budget reserve.

BREAKING: Slashing suspect identified as man found dead near Arapahoe

(Riverton, Wyo.) – A 35-year-old man wanted in the felony slashing of another man in Riverton July 5th was found dead Monday morning outside of a home near Arapahoe. Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan reported Thursday that the death of Angelo Jenkins has been ruled a suicide. “The preliminary autopsy result indicated death was by exsanguination from self-inflicted wounds,” McAuslan said. Exsanguination is death from blood loss. An autopsy on Jenkin’s body was conducted Tuesday in Loveland, Colorado.

Heavy fog possible factor in Grand Teton National Park single vehicle rollover, fatality

(Jackson, Wyo.) – A recent resident of Jackson died in a single vehicle rollover Wednesday, July 16, in Grand Teton National Park. Bernardo Bravo, 45, formerly of the Phoenix, Arizona area, apparently drove off the Teton Park Road and rolled his 2002 Buick sedan down a steep embankment just a mile north of the park’s Moose Entrance Station sometime in the early morning hours. Bravo was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

G&F error results in 700 additional elk, deer and antelope licenses to be made available

(Cheyenne, Wyo.)  – Nearly 700 leftover full-priced elk, deer and antelope licenses that were not sold on the scheduled leftover license sales date will go on sale first-come, first-served July 24, 2014 at 8 a.m.  The licenses are available to both residents and nonresidents online through the Game and Fish website or at license-selling agents and Game and Fish offices.

Wyoming will not object to third party candidates fundraising during primary

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) – The Wyoming Attorney General has filed a motion stating the State does not object to third party candidates raising money during the primary election period. A third party candidate has sued the state in federal district court over a law passed in 2009. This law prohibited candidates who are not Republicans or Democrats from raising money until the general election.

I-80 Westbound traffic backed up from Evanston to Rawlins after crash in Utah

(Evanston, Wyo.) – A crash on Interstate 80 in Utah has halted westbound traffic in Wyoming at Evanston. The Wyoming Highway Patrol received the request from Utah authorities at5:15 this morning to close Interstate 80 westbound due to the crash at mile post 185 in Utah. Westbound I 80 remains closed at this time and is not projected to open until sometime late this afternoon as road repair is required from the crash.
