The Eastern Shoshone Tribal Buffalo Restoration Program announced the new arrival of a bison calf on the Wind River Indian Reservation.
While we don’t’ have specifics on this one yet, baby bison can weigh between 30-70 lbs. Male adult bison range from 1,000-2,200 lbs and female adults 790-1,200 lbs.
Bison calves typically are a reddish-brown color, they nurse for at least 7-8 months and the gestation period is approximately 285 days.
