(Riverton, Wyo.) – One year to the date of his violent murder on the Rails to Trails pathway, the family of 25-year-old David Moss held a memorial walk through Riverton to remember him. The small group of family members gathered at the pathway at Webbwood Road and walked to City Park where a lunch was served. They carried signs and photographs of Moss.

It was in the early morning hours of September 4, 2013, that Moss’s body was found near the All Nations Mobile Home Park along the pathway. He had been beaten to death. A companion of Moss, Aleeah Crispin, was also beaten in the attack, and now suffers from short term memory loss. The two friends had ordered hamburgers and were eating them when they were attacked. Santana Mendoza and John Potter, both 16 at the time, were charged with the crime and both pleaded guilty and were convicted of┬áthe lesser crime of manslaughter and were each sentenced to 12-18 years.
