Participants who are employed should have the support of their employer to assure participation in all class days.
Classes focus on forming leadership skills like conflict management, acceptance and management of change and initiation of social action. The program seeks to develop dynamic relationships among families, employees, and communities; expand personal and professional networks; and inspire personal, community and workplace leadership roles.
Each class day will also include a Community Based Experience, or CBE. CBE’s are opportunities to visit or tour local business, government or civic entities. They are meant to build knowledge and enhance relationships across the Wind River Indian Reservation.
Guest speakers will consist of UW Extension Educators, local leaders such as Patrick Goggles and Keja Whiteman, and other prominent leaders from Indian Country.
Sessions are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at various locations on the reservation. A detailed schedule with specific locations will be sent by email prior to each class. Lunch and additional materials are provided at each session.
