Two Young Equestrians qualified for AQHA Region Championships

(Riverton, Wyo.) – A young Riverton equestrian and her sister are headed to the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Region Two Championships this month in South Dakota.

Makayla McPherson, 12 and Kristen McPherson, 11, showed their horses and came away with 11 Grand Champions and 4 Reserve Champions at the Fremont County Fair Horse Show and two weeks later showed 8 Grand Champions and 3 Reserve Champions at the Wyoming State Fair Horse Show.

Makayla also won a belt buckle and a saddle at the Fremont County Fair and a buckle at the Wyoming State Fair.

The girl’s favorite show horse which they share is nicknamed Bugs (aka Impulsive Notions) and Kristen’s horse is called Morty (aka The Undertaker).

At Last year’s Region 2 Championships, Makayla qualified for the AQHA Novice Championships in Las Vegas this October.
