(Fremont County, Wyo.) – So far only two write-in candidates from last week’s primary election have accepted their nomination and their names will be placed on November’s General Election ballot.

They are Ward I City Council candidate Phil Lavoie in Riverton and Dubois Mayoral candidate Grant Miller.

At Lander City Hall, no write-in nominee had filed papers as of mid-day Tuesday. Potential candidates are in Ward 2 where Melinda Cox had announced her intention to seek a write-in nomination and in Ward 3 where Mark Calhoun received enough write-ins to qualify for the November ballot if he decided to run.

“One person came in to check the Ward boundary maps, but so far no one has filed any acceptance papers with us,” said City Clerk Robin Griffin.

At Hudson, Town Clerk Mary Anne Robeson said she had heard that a write-in nominee for mayor, Mike “Moose” Dabich said he was not interested in the mayor’s office, but that he may consider mounting a separate write-in campaign for the town council. “But I haven’t heard from him officially on that,” she said.

There was no answer at the Shoshoni Town Hall.  Kathryn Dewitt  of Shoshoni had earned enough votes to run for the town council there.

The deadline to accept a write-in nomination is tomorrow, Wednesday, August 27th, at the close of business at a nominee’s respective town hall.
