(Lander, Wyo.) – A memorial service for Zephan and Noah van Dijk are set for 3 p.m. on Aug. 24 at the Central Wyoming College Sinks Canyon Center. The brothers died in an accidental house fire on July 15.
But before Sunday’s service, kids and parents are invited to Lander City Park from 1-3 p.m. today, Aug. 23, to help decorate a rainbow memorial for the boys.
The family asks for people to carpool when possible since parking is limited. Overflow parking is available and the City of Lander Water Treatment Plant and the public fishing access off Sinks Canyon Road. Buses will be taking people from the overflow spots to the service. Due to the extra transportation time, those intending to use the service should arrive early.
Attendees are also asked to bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Please bring written memorials of Zephy and Noah to the Memorial; if there happens to be pictures with them in it floating around bring them too.
The family also hopes to host a community picnic after the service. Food dish coordination should be done with Melissa at 851-7712 or Julie at 332-9375.
