Alleged abduction on Friday determined to be unfounded

(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Deputies were requested to the area of Morton Lake Friday morning regarding a call from a female subject who indicated her boyfriend was abducted by a former prison inmate. The reporting party gave a description of the alleged vehicle involved, which was located by the initial arriving Deputy Sheriff. After a very short vehicle pursuit the driver fled the area on foot. Two other men were located inside the vehicle; one was identified as the person alleged to have been abducted.

Deputies were able to track the driver, 24 year old Richard Whiteman of Ethete, to a nearby home about an hour later. He was located hiding in the crawl space of the residence. Whiteman was arrested for Interference and Criminal Entry.

The abduction report was unfounded. The alleged victim indicated his girlfriend was upset with him for not going home with her when she was ready. All persons involved were highly intoxicated.

Wow… Another huge waste of taxpayers money. How about prosecuting the girlfriend who called this in?

She should have reported a drunk driver- At least they stopped the vehicle before any crashes occurred.
