(Fremont County, Wyo.) – The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for: Central Fremont County in central Wyoming.
- Until 5:30 pm MDT.
- At 4:29 pm MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near U.S. Hwy 287/26 mile marker 90, and moving east at 25 mph. Hazard, 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. Source, radar indicated. Impact: hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect some wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.
- The severe thunderstorm will affect mainly rural areas of central Fremont County. Report severe weather to the National Weather Service office in Riverton at 1-800-211-1448.
A cluster of thunderstorms continues to track east across portions of the Wind River Basin. These storms will continue to affect the Wind River Basin until at least 5:30 pm. The strongest storms will likely affect an area between Crowheart and diversion dam through 5 pm. Expect Locally heavy downpours, pea size hail and frequent dangerous cloud to ground Lightning as well as brief gusty winds with these stronger storm cells. Other areas such as Riverton and Lander could see Locally heavy rainfall. Small hail and occasional dangerous Lightning from the less intense storm cells. Take Shelter at the first sign of threatening Weather.
