(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Here is the weekend law enforcement wrap-up from across the county. All persons cited are arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
Fremont County Sheriff’s Office
Brittany Dailey, 25, Lander, Probation Violation.
At 7:32 a.m., a caller on Gas Hills Road reported to law enforcement that there were two raccoons in a trash container.
A report of threats being made somewhere in the county was reported on Monday morning. Additional information was not available.
Two theft reports that came in early Monday afternoon are under investigation. One was in the Kinnear area and the other was in Dubois. The Kinnear incident reportedly involved the theft of a large number of cattle.
A canoe that was reported stolen on July 24 off Sheridan Creek Road reappeared on Monday. The Sheriff’s Office reports that the canoe was returned along the side of the road with an apology note attached to it. The canoe was undamaged.
The Sheriff’s Office assisted Wind River Police with an attempt to locate a juvenile runaway from Morton Lake. Deputies did not locate the juvenile.
A family fight was reported on Glory Lane Monday evening shortly before 10. Deputies determined the fight was verbal only.
A deputy assisted Wind River Police in locating an address in connection to a criminal investigation. No additional information was available.
Riverton Police Department
Tilford Lee, 33, Riverton, Public Intoxication
Jimmie Nelms, 61, Riverton, Probation Revocation
Sterling Nalder, 44, West Point, Utah, DUI. Police received a REDDI report at 11:40 p.m. from the Wind River Casino of a possible drunk driver leaving that location. Police made contact with Nalder’s vehicle on West Main Street and discovered that he was, in fact, intoxicated. He was arrested.
The below listed individual was issued a Misdemeanor Citation and released with their promise to appear in Court at a later date.
52-year-old female from Riverton, Disturbing the Peace
A vandalism was reported in the 2200 block of East Monroe Avenue where a motorist had driven on sidewalks at Arrow Storage, causing some damage. The incident was reported at 7:55 a.m.
Another raccoon was caught in a trap in the 3100 block of West Main. It was released by the river.
An Iguana was found up a tree in the 200 block of Mesquite Circle at 2:39 p.m. Monday, but the reptile was too far up the tree for anyone to catch it, and the tree was not strong enough to be climbed. It was left alone. So, if anyone is missing an Iguana….
Medication was reported stolen from a silve Dodge Ram parked in the 300 block of North 6th East. No other information was available.
The theft of a silver and purple Mongoose Mountain Bike with a black seat was reported at the RPD lobby window on Monday. The victim said the bicycle was taken from a back yard while they were away this past weekend. The theft occurred in the 700 block of East Jackson. Value of the bicycle is $100.
A Freightliner semi truck and utility trailer backed into a parked 2004 Harley Davison motorcycle Monday in the 500 block of East Madison. Damage was listed over $1,000.
An off-duty Sheriff’s Deputy was driving near South Broadway and East Monroe when he spotted a parked motorcycle that had been reported stolen. He advised the RPD, who also responded to the scene and made contact with an individual there. “Well, I kinda thought my wife might do something like this,” the man told officers. He said he and his soon to be ex are in the throes of a divorce. Because a theft report had been filed, the motorcycle was taken to impound and officers suggested the man take civil action to regain his motorcycle. The bike was a 2006 Harley Davidson.
Police received a report of a juvenile problem in the 1100 block of West Park at 9:40 p.m. Upon arrival, police learned a 14-year-old male was “ungovernable” and had refused to get into a vehicle. Upon checking the youth’s identity, police learned he was a runaway from the Wind River Reservation. The BIA Wind River Police were contacted, they arrived and took the boy into custody.
A rear window was broken out of a red 1985 Nissan Pulsar parked in the alley behind the 200 block of West Monroe. The owner was in a garage nearby working on a motorcycle when he heard a crash, went outside and found a rock had been through through window. There are no suspects.
Lander Police Department
At 20-in. boys BMX bike was reported found early Monday morning in the area of North Sixth and Jefferson streets.
A caller on East Main Street reported finding a dog inside the Nissan Titan truck with a dog locked inside with windows all rolled for 20 minutes. Additional details will be added when they come available.
At 11:21 a.m., police were called to South Second Street for a report of a theft of hanging flower basket.
A man in the Lander area reported that he was receiving threatening calls from his brother.
The back door of a home on North Ninth Street was reported late Monday afternoon.
At 5:08 p.m., police were called about a small child left along in a vehicle parked along Main Street. Additional details will be added when they come available.
A man at a home on Amoretti Street reported that some things were missing from his closet after he got home. Additional details will be added when they come available.
At 9:17 p.m., a caller on Main Street reported a suspicious person carrying a bottle with what looked like a handgun at his side.
