Riverton woman with connections to Casper meth ring enters another guilty plea
(Lander, Wyo.) – Of the many charged in a Casper-area methamphetamine distribution ring, Riverton woman Sandra Manzanares, 58, has now entered guilty pleas in district courts in Lander and Casper.
Manzanares in late June pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance in the District Court in Natrona County. The charge stemmed from her intention to purchase meth from Ernie Montoya in Shoshoni and deliver it to some of her friends. For this plea she received a 3-5 year prison sentence suspended by for three years supervised probation.
Connected to the same Shoshoni arrest, Manzanares last week pleaded guilty to possessing a felony amount of methamphetamine in District Court in Lander. She gave nearly the same factual basis for both pleadings.
She said she communicated with Montoya and then purchased more than 3 grams of methamphetamine from him. She was arrested and found in possession of the drugs during a traffic stop soon after. Her attorney, Terry Martin, said she had been under Division of Criminal Investigation supervision.
For the plea in Lander, Manzanares received the exact same sentence as she did in Casper, and the two sentences are to run concurrently.
