Cowboy Bible Conference – Grace Bible Church in Lander hosts its conference with services at 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. services on Aug. 7 and 8 at the Old Timers arena in Lander. Events for children (chicken roping, mutton busting and more) and adults also a horse training exhibition and auction. Though the conference is free, the church charges charge a nominal fee for events, food and refreshments.

Birds Make the Best Bird Watchers – Authors and ornithoraconteurs Roger Lederer & Carol Burr will present a multi-media presentation on everything you ever wanted to know about bird watching, Thursday August 7th from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Dennison Lodge at the Dubois Museum.

Jon Cox: ‘Perspective’ art show – The opening reception for the show is 6-8 p.m. at the Lander Art Center and is free and open to the public.

Splash into Fitness fundraiser – Join Jason Pagnoni of Pagnoni Fitness for a weighted circuit class and Pam and Fabiana for Zumba for a fun fitness event for the entire family starting at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will go to Central Wyoming Skateboard Association toward the new skate park. Both fitness classes will run at the same time, and attendees should feel free to do one or both. Jaycees/UMC Yard Sale – The Riverton Jaycees in partnership with the Riverton United Methodist Church will be hosting a huge yard sale at 7 a.m. in the Methodist Church parking lot on West Park Ave. All proceeds will be donated to Nothing But Nets, a global charity which purchases mosquito nets for families in malaria-ridden countries.

Wilderness Medicine Talk with Buck Tilton – Buck Tilton is the author of the “Medicine Man” column in Backpacker magazine as well as of 43 books, among them Wilderness First Responder, which won an award for excellence from the American Medical Writers Association. He’ll speak from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Riverton Museum.

Dubois Fireman’s Buffalo BBQ –  Enjoy buffalo burgers and a buffalo roast in support of the Dubois Volunteer Fire Dept. Starts 4 – 7 p.m. Dubois City Park. $10.

Play it Forward: Love for the Van Dijk Family – Nancy Ebbert will perform for your pleasure and whatever money you wish to donate to The Feike van Dijk Family who lost two children, their home and their automobiles in a tragic fire. The Gannett Grill and the Cowfish have promised to match whatever money you donate. Matt Milsap, Deryle Matland and Dudley Irvine of String Theory will play and we will end the night with the lively music of the Low Water String Band.
