BREAKING: LPD discovers suspected meth lab; Street still closed for investigation
(Lander, Wyo.) – Last night, Lander Police stumbled upon a suspected methamphetamine lab on the 200 block of Adams Street, and the investigation at the scene is still active. The entire block is closed to traffic, with the regional HAZMAT crew set up in the street with a tent and a decontamination pool.
Limited information is being released at this time as the Division of Criminal Investigation is involved in the investigation. The home in question is located in about the middle of the block on the south side of the street.
In a new release, Lander Police say they were called at about 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 6. “(Officers) were advised that a bunch of fighting and yelling was occurring in the area,” LPD states. “Two citations were issued for fighting, multiple subjects were contacted. During the investigation a suspected Methamphetamine lab was located inside a residence. The residence was secured for the safety of the subjects involved. Region 5 Hazmat team and elements of the DCI are in the process of collecting and removing the suspected lab. This is a working scene and still in progress.”
Additional information will be reported when it comes available. There is no word at this time as to how long the block might be closed to traffic.
