(St. Stephens, Wyo.) – The fire that destroyed a mobile home and four vehicles and damaged the siding of another home in the Slattery Mobile Home Park on Rendezvous Road has been called accidental.

Assistant Riverton Fire District Chief Scott Walters said Riverton firefighters were on the scene for about three hours at the mobile home park, located at 764 Rendezvous Road on the Wind River Reservation. The fire began Sunday just after 12-noon.

“Three vehicles between the trailer in space #6 that was on fire and the next mobile home were all destroyed, as was a car on the other side of the trailer,” Walters said. “All four were a total loss, along with the home.”

Walters said the homeowner was Sandra C’Hair and that five children lived in the house. He said the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Wind River Casino were working on temporary housing for the family, who lost everything.

The older model 12×60 mobile home went up quickly, but there were no injuries. “The fire started inside the house and has been ruled accidental,” he said.

The Riverton Fire District responded with two engine companies and two tanker companies with just over one-dozen firefighters on the scene. Walters said the scene had been mopped up in about three hours.
