Police Blotter: Arrests; Tools stolen from truck; Scam phone calls continue to be reported

(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Here is Wednesday’s recap of law enforcement activity around the county. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Fremont County Coroner

The preliminary autopsy on a 43 year-old Lander woman was inconclusive pending further tests and toxicology, Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Stratmoen reported. Michelle Goodluck-Watt was found dead on Saturday at her home in Lander. “There is nothing suspicious about her death, except her age,” Stratmoen said. “She had no medical history that we know of.” Results from the additional tests are expected in the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Stratmoen also reported than an “after the fact” investigation is underway in the death of a Wyoming Life Resource Center resident who died at SageWest-Lander on Sunday. The death was not reported to the coroner’s office as required in Wyoming State Statute WS7-4-104(a)(i)(G). The coroner is required to investigate any death of a person in the state’s custody. There is nothing suspicious in the death of Carol Roskie, 54, but since it was not originally reported by the hospital, a follow-up investigation is needed. “It is presumed to be a natural death,” Stratmoen said.

A 60-year-old Casper resident with known cardiac history had a heart attack and died near Dubois Saturday while traveling with his wife. Efforts to resuscitate Barry Erbin, 60, were unsuccessful.

The death of an 81-year-old Lander resident Sunday was ruled of natural causes and no investigation will be held.
