(Riverton, Wyo.) – Beginning this fall, Central Wyoming College will offer students a new Clinical Medical Assistant certificate. Medical assistants are in demand nationally, and CWC is expanding its offerings to meet those needs. Students will learn administrative and clinical roles performed by medical assistants in a clinic or physician’s office setting. The certificate will take one year (two semesters) to complete. The program will be lead by a certified, experienced instructor. The certificate is a full-time program that meets during the day.
Fall courses include:
• Administrative Role of the Medical Assistant
• Laboratory Techniques for the Medical Assistant
• Clinical Role of the Medical Assistant.
These courses meet Tuesdays 8:30-11:30 a.m., Thursdays 1:00-5:00 p.m. and Fridays 10:30- 1:00 p.m. Students must be enrolled in all three courses concurrently. Students should also be enrolled in (or have already completed):
• Human Anatomy
• MATH 1000 or higher (pre-requisite for medical assistant courses in the spring)
• Students with limited computer skills should complete CMAP 1680
