Teen allegedly run over on Wind River Indian Reservation; FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office investigating

(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Bureau of Indian Affairs are investigating an incident that occurred late Tuesday afternoon on Wind River Indian Reservation in which a teen was apparently struck by a car.

The exact location of where the incident occurred is unclear at this time, but BIA and Fremont County Ambulance were initially called to the Beaver Creek Housing area. Based on radio traffic heard by County10, a 15-year-old boy was run over by a vehicle and the driver put the kid in their vehicle and then drove away. However, the U.S. Attorney’s Office indicated the actual incident occurred in Riverton.

“Apparently the driver of the truck was arrested by BIA Police,” U.S. Attorney’s Office Spokesman John Powell said. “Our office will review some of the alleged actions taken by adults after the young man was run over. The FBI will conduct that investigation.”

Additional information will be reported as it comes available.
