(Lander, Wyo.) – A groundbreaking ceremony for the future Central Wyoming College Lander Center is set for July 30. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the site of the future facility, the corner of Highway 789 and Leedy Boulevard, just south of the Wyoming Life Resource Center.
Refreshments will be served following the groundbreaking. The public is invited to attend.
The new building will replace the current location on the 400 block of Main Street, which has been deemed inadequate for the college’s needs. Funding for the new multi-million dollar facility has been approved at 66 percent from the state, and the college will pay for the rest with $700,000 in short term bonds it has issued through Wells Fargo.
The land is owned by the Wyoming Department of Health and is under a long-term lease to CWC.
