Laramie, Wyo. (July 22, 2014) — Wyoming Cowboy Football fans will get their first preview of the 2014 season when Mountain West Conference Media Days kick off from Las Vegas on Tuesday. Wyoming is being represented by first-year head coach Craig Bohl, senior wide receiver Dominic Rufran and junior defensive end Eddie Yarbrough.
Rufran and Yarbrough will be featured on the live Mountain West Network show that will run from 5-6:30 p.m., Mountain Time from the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, site of this year’s media days. Each of the 12 Mountain West student-athletes will be featured in 10-minute segments during the Tuesday show. The two Wyoming Cowboys are scheduled to appear at approximately 6:20 p.m., Mountain Time. Rufran, who was named to the 2014 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List earlier this month. He led the Wyoming Cowboys in receptions (75) and receiving yards (960) as a junior in 2013. He fell just 40 yards shy of a 1,000-yard receiving season. The Colorado Springs native also caught eight touchdown passes in 2013. He recorded four 100-yard receiving games as a junior, including 120 at Nebraska, 117 at Air Force, 135 versus Colorado State and 121 against Hawai’i.
Yarbrough was named to the 2014 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch list earlier in July. He was also selected First Team All-Mountain West Conference as a sophomore in 2013 in voting by conference head coaches and media members. He led all Mountain West defensive linemen in tackles, averaging 7.4 tackles per game in 2013. Yarbrough ended the 2013 season with 89 total tackles, including 6.5 sacks, 12.0 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
Bohl enters his first year as the Cowboys’ head football coach after winning the last three consecutive NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) National titles at North Dakota State (2011, ‘12 and ‘13).
