(Wind River Reservation, Wyo.) – Wind River Reservation and Bureau of Indian Affairs road crews kicked off chip sealing of 17 Mile Road in Fremont County Tuesday morning.
Chip sealing of the highway between the Little Wind River bridge and the west end of 17 Mile Road is the final phase in highway improvements of the west section of the 17 Mile Road project on the Wind River Reservation project.
The chip sealing portion of the project is expected to continue Wednesday and Thursday. Drivers should expect delays of up to 10 minutes during the chip sealing effort, and drivers are being led through the project with pilot vehicles.
Wyoming Department of Transportation chip sealing veterans Shane Wilson of Thermopolis, Shane Pugh of Riverton and David Harrenga of Lander were part of the effort.
