(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Fremont County Library Foundation at its July 10th Board of Director’s meeting, approved a grant to the Riverton branch library for $20,000.00 to assist in the Community Library Room Project. This grant is specifically for Audio- Visual equipment improvements; updating the current installation that has been in place since the building’s inception. The grant was made outside of the usual mission of the foundation, due in part, to the Fremont County Board of Commissioner’s recent commitment to fund the roof replacement of the Riverton Library.
Foundation President, John Angst, said “The Community Room is a vital asset to the Riverton branch and while the Foundation does not supplant phyiscal plant funding that is the responsibility of the County; we saw a critical need to kickstart the project. The Foundation did the same for Lander with the Carnegie Project.”The Fremont County Library Foundation operates an endowment to assist the branch libraries in Dubois, Lander and Riverton and community partner libraries throughout the county.Tax deductible contributions can be made to the Foundation and will be matched, one to one, by the State Foundation Match program as enacted by the Legislature.
