BREAKING: Slashing suspect identified as man found dead near Arapahoe

(Riverton, Wyo.) – A 35-year-old man wanted in the felony slashing of another man in Riverton July 5th was found dead Monday morning outside of a home near Arapahoe. Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan reported Thursday that the death of Angelo Jenkins has been ruled a suicide. “The preliminary autopsy result indicated death was by exsanguination from self-inflicted wounds,” McAuslan said. Exsanguination is death from blood loss. An autopsy on Jenkin’s body was conducted Tuesday in Loveland, Colorado.

McAuslan said additional tests and toxicology results are yet to be completed, and a final cause of death won’t be determined until them.

The FBI, BIA Wind River Police and the Coroner’s office are conducting the joint investigation into the death. Jenkins’ body was found around 11 a.m. Monday morning. He had been on the run since the July 5th attack in which a 27-year-old Arapahoe man had been eviscerated in an apparent unprovoked attack at a house party in Riverton.
