GOP Statewide Candidates Forum – The forum starts at 7 p.m. at the Lander Valley High School Auditorium.

Jeff Crosby concert – One of the artist behind the theme song of Sons of Anarchy is performing a free show at Bar Ten in Riverton starting at 9 p.m.

Friday, July 18

Rocky Mountain Car and Bike Show – The Friday Night Cruise is at 6 p.m. from the 1900 block of North Federal to Main Street. The show, along Main Street is from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Wrangler Classic Horse Show – The fun begins with a Wyoming Whiskey Tasting at the Jim Moss Arena at noon on Friday, July 18 followed by the Prairie Dog Open Golf Tournament T-Off at 1 p.m. WTRC Team Roping starts at 6 p.m. on Friday and as the roping winds down, the band gets started! Sinks Canyon Fireside Speaker Series – This week’s topic is Bats of the Wind River Range with guest speaker Krysta Demere of Wyoming Game & Fish.

Ethete Celebration and Powwow – The event will be at Ethete Road and US Hwy.132. Grand entry times are Friday at 7 p.m. Professional dancers from tribes all over the US travel to be part of this favorite cultural Pow-wow, hosted in Ethete.

Saturday, July 19

Riverton Rendezvous Hot Air Balloon Rally –  For the rally, the balloons go off behind Central Wyoming College at the soccer field (2660 Peck Ave. next to white water tower) 6 – 6:30 a.m., tethered balloon rides at 7 a.m., and a balloon glow at 8 p.m. – all weather permitting. Start your day with a Kiwanis Pancake breakfast 6 a.m., Paws Redneck BBQ & RugRat Carnival 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on CWC south lawn.

Rocky Mountain Rebels Car & Bike Show – Registration is 9 a.m. until the show opens at 11 a.m. at Central Wyoming College. The show, autocross and swap meet will go until 4 p.m. There will also be a BBQ festival and carnival for kids.

RMR Auto-Cross Event – Registration starts at 9 a.m. with a drivers meeting and track review at 10 a.m. Stock, super stock and super stock modified categories.

65th National Fine Art Show in Dubois – The show opens at the Headwaters Arts and Conference Center and runs through July 28.

Mountain Man Festival – Step back in history and bring the family to the 3rd Annual Festival of the Mountain Man! Meet colorful characters and learn to shoot a bow and arrow, watch Indian Dancing, listen to old time storytellers, see a period costume contest, enjoy live music, coyote calling, a buffalo pie throwing contest, and sample western traditional crafts and foods. Donation for admission. Wind River Heritage Center, 1075 S. Federal Blvd.

Run Like a Bighorn Trail Run – The race will begin at 7 a.m., with registration at Sawmill campground beginning at 6:00 a.m. You may also pre-register at the Sinks Visitor Center. Buffalo Tracks Challenge Run – Entry into the 2-mile walk, 5k run, 1-mile kids race or the tot-trot (5 and under) is free. Registration with t-shirt is $15. Free breakfast and awards ceremony will follow at 9 a.m. The race will start at 168 Yellowcalf Road in Ethete.

VFW Poker Run in Riverton – A VFW Poker Run starts at the Veteran’s Hall parking lot at 611 East Main in Riverton at 8 a.m. with registration, the run begins at 9 a.m. through Sweetwater Station, Jeffrey City, back to Lander, Hudson and ending in Riverton. Midvale Fire Hall Dedication – The event is at 11 a.m. followed by a lunch at 1556 Missouri Valley Road. There will be door prizes and games for the kids.

Balloon Glow at CWC and Fireworks – The event at CWC starts at 8 p.m. followed by the Riverton Rendezvous Fireworks at Dusk.

 

Sunday, July 20
