(Riverton, Wyo.) – Paws for Life Animal League will be hosting their 3rd Annual Redneck BBQ Festival & Rugrat Carnival in conjunction with the Rocky Mountain Rebels Car & Bike Show on July 19th from 11am – 4pm on the CWC Front Lawn as part of the Riverton Rendezvous Balloon Rally event lineup.
The event was born from Paws desire to provide something fun for families to do once the balloons had flown through the sky and the Rocky Mountain Rebels invited them to partner with their event that has been in the Balloon Rally lineup for over 20 years. It was a perfect addition to allow the auto lover a chance to drool over fancy rides while the kids can splash & play and everyone can eat some fun food.
The event is non-alcoholic and provides a carnivalesque atmosphere with food vendors supplying everything from popcorn, shaved ice, ice cream and of course, the Paws BBQ buffet. Admission to Car & Bike Show is free. An all-day access wristband for the kids is required to participate in the bounce houses and water features which are $15 ea. or a Family Fun Pack of 4 for $50. Each wristband includes 20 game tickets to participate in activities like a Fishing Hole, Lollipop Toss, Roping Dummies, Duck Toss and more which are hosted by businesses and organizations around town. Food is purchased separately. The proceeds from the event go to support the Paws for Life Dog House Fund, providing funds to expand and improve the current facility for more information, please visit www.pawsforliferiverton.org
New offerings this year include a free gift when you show your 2014 Rendezvous pin during purchase of a wristband. If you don’t have a pin, we’ll have them for sale at the wristband table for $5 ea. Also, we will be offering a “Welcome Bag” to the kiddos at the time of wristband purchase with some summertime goodies and a convenient bag for carrying their loot home from their game winnings. Supplies are limited.
Last year, over 500 people attended the event from all around Wyoming and the western region reaching all the way to California. Make sure to bring the little tikes too, because there will be a special 5 and under area for them to enjoy without the chaos of the bigger kids. Make sure the kids wear swim gear and everyone wears sunscreen and stays hydrated. Paws will also have a baggy station, so folks with a leashed pet can pick up the pet’s land mines. The Car & Bike Show will be running heats in the Art Center parking lot and it will be roped off during the event, so plan accordingly for parking.
Paws will also be selling raffle tickets for the Summer Grillin’ Raffle at the event. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and are on sale now at Ace Hardware, First Interstate Bank, Hi-Mountain Seasonings, Hooper-Strike Law Office, Main Street Chiropractic & Massage and The Stock Doc. Tickets will also be sold at the Friday Night Cruise on Main Street and the winner announced via the Paws for Life Facebook page on July 20th, so make sure to Like them at facebook.com/pawsriverton. The raffle package includes a New Char-Broil BBQ grill, a $100 gift card the Clark’s Meat House, a tank of propane, Hi-Mountain seasoning assortment, a cooler, lawn chairs, lawn games, grilling tools and marinades. The package is on display at Ace Hardware and will also be displayed at the event.
Paws looks forward to seeing everyone there!
