(Riverton, Wyo.) – Under threatening skies, Monday night’s Hot Notes, Cool Nights concert at Riverton City Park featured the Central Wyoming College Community Concert Band in a Night at the Opera. With an appreciative crowd on hand, the rain stayed away. Headline performer Monday night was the Fremont Symphony Orchestra that played selections as varied as Beethoven to Santana and ended the evening with a rousing rendition of the Stars and Stripes Forever. Five 10-year-old members of the Symphony’s Imperial Youth Orchestra joined the main orchestra for the concert.
The Hot Notes, Cool Nights series returns to Lander next Monday, July 21st, 7 p.m. at the Lander Outdoor Amphitheater adjacent to Lander Valley High School. The country-rock Teka Brock Band is the headliner of the concert. The concert band will perform tunes from “south of the border.”
The concerts, scheduled every Monday through August 4 at 7 p.m., alternate between the city park in Riverton and the Lander Outdoor Amphitheater.
