(Arapahoe, Wyo.) – Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan said this morning¬†the suspicious death of a 35-year-old Arapahoe man is under investigation. McAuslan said the identity of the man is being withheld and that all information should come from the FBI since the death occurred on the Wind River Indian Reservation. The investigation is a joint one between the Federal agency, BIA Wind River Police and the coroner’s office.

The man’s body was discovered yesterday morning around 11 a.m. The coroner’s office was notified at 2 p.m.

McAuslan said the man’s body is now en route to Loveland, Colo. for autopsy. He said the cause of death is not obvious, but he said it was suspicious in nature. McAuslan would not reveal any other facts.

The FBI Denver Division released the following statement this morning from spokesman Dave Jolly after an inquiry by County10.com News: ¬†“We are investigating an unknown death of an individual of the reservation.”

More information is expected after an autopsy report is completed, which could be 4 to 6 weeks depending on toxicology tests.
