Party chairs and County Clerk test voting machines for absentee ballots

(Lander, Wyo.) – Before statewide absentee voting got started yesterday, local officials were making sure the voting machines were in working order. Fremont County Clerk Julie Freese, Fremont County Republican Chairwoman Darlene Vaughan and Fremont County Democrat Chairman Bruce Palmer met in the early morning hours on Thursday to test the machines.

Wyoming is one of 27 states that allows any qualified voter to vote absentee without providing an excuse. The voter may return the ballot by mail or in person to their county clerk. Ballots must be received in the clerk’s office not later than 7:00 p.m. on Primary Election Day, August 19.
