In the heart of downtown Lander the thunder quieted and the Veterans and their supporters recited the Pledge of Allegiance above two large flags suspended over Main Street last July.

(Lander, Wyo.) – Join your friends and neighbors on Main Street this Sunday, July 13, at 10 a.m. to welcome home more than 200 veterans as they ride to the Veteran’s Memorial to commemorate the sacrifices of those who fought and died in the Vietnam War. More that 200 Vietnam Veterans and Legacy Veterans will ride in a parade down Main Street and to the courthouse for an observance and memorial service at the Veteran’s Memorial.

The motto for the events is “Today We Ride For Those Who Died.” Local motorcyclists are invited to join the vets (free of charge) in the parade on Sunday morning. Meet at the Shopko parking lot at 9 a.m. Everyone is also welcome in front of the courthouse on North 2nd Street immediately following the parade for the memorial service.

Give the Veterans a proper welcome to Lander and thank them for their sacrifices to guarantee our freedom and our country.
