(Riverton, Wyo.) – Fremont County will be holding a ground-breaking ceremony for the new Fremont County Justice Center this Friday.
The ceremony will be at 11 a.m. at the construction site at 1160 Major Avenue in Riverton. County Commissioner Travis Becker said the ceremony will be brief so people can return to work as needed. The public is invited.
The nearly $5 million building will be the new home to the Sheriff’s Office, County Attorney’s Office and Riverton Circuit Court. The impetus to construct a new building came after a bullet hole was found in the side of the current facility’s wall in the summer of 2012. That structure is currently surrounded by storage containers for added protection.
