(Lander, Wyo.) – Lander Volunteer Fire Department Administrator Nick Hudson said an investigation into Tuesday night’s attic fire determined the cause to be electrical. A short in a bathroom exhaust fan in the home on the 300 block of Cascade Streetsparked the slow, destructive fire the burned through the home’s attic.

Due to the damage, most of the ceilings had to be town out, Hudson said the family was forced to relocate for some time. The Red Cross has reportedly helped the family with housing for the time being. Most of the family’s clothing and belongings were unharmed, Hudson said.
