(Dubois, Wyo.) – The month of May was filled with color and spirit in the Lodge. We had four residents who displayed their art in our first resident art show. The opening was held during our weekly Happy Hour Social on May 16th.
Joan Guthrie studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art had the largest collection of work in the show, primarily of sculpture and pottery as well as many watercolors.
Beth Chimenti included two beautifully framed needlework pieces, one of a peacock and the other a landscape of farmstead well.
Esther Pickett Wells contributed her oil paintings of her years spent on a coffee plantation in Paraguay and couple of pieces of her Wyoming ranch and time spent in Arizona. Glenda Stewart entered two oil paintings of local mountain landscapes that she had done in art class.
Our visitors during the month of May were delighted by the talent on display and the residents enjoyed revisiting the stories that went with their work. We are so lucky to have this art in our surroundings at the Lodge!
