(Lander, Wyo.) – Lander Mayor Mick Wolfe, with the unanimous support of the City Council, appointed new attorneys last night. Both the city’s Public Defender Ron Kopriva and City Attorney Don Legerski are retiring.
Adam Phillips was appointed to replace Legerski. Legerski’s contract ends in the middle of July. Phillips has been appointed to fill the space until the end of the year. This, Wolfe said in a previous council meeting, would allow whoever becomes the new mayor to decide whether or not he or she wants Phillips or someone else.
James Whiting was appointed to replace Kopriva as the public defender in the city’s court. Wolfe appointed Wendy Merrill as an alternate for Whiting.
The trio of new attorneys were sworn into office during Tuesday night’s city council meeting.
