(Dubois, Wyo.) – A culvert located on the Brooks Lake Road (Forest Road 515) was recently found to be failing. As a result, there is an active slump eroding the shoulder of this road on the Wind River Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest.
The road is currently passable to one-way traffic. The location of the failing culvert is roughly 2.5 miles from the junction with Highway 26/287. If the slump continues to grow it may result in the closing of the road. The Shoshone is in the process of arranging for the culvert to be replaced.
Those wishing to travel the road to Brooks Lake are encouraged to call the Wind River District Office at 307-455-2466 to obtain the latest information on the status of the road.
