Lander Rotary makes $15k donation to Lander Community Center project

(Lander, Wyo.) – The Lander Rotary Club Wednesday presented The City of Lander a check in the amount of $15,000 to aid in the construction of the Lander Community Center. The check was presented to Community Resource Coordinator Gary Michaud and Mayor Mick Wolfe at a noon Rotary luncheon. Making the presentation on behalf of the Lander Rotarians was club president Bryan Neely.

The Lander club raised the funds for the Community Center at its Shamrock Shindig in March these past two years. This annual event is a fun evening of food, drink, dancing and music with an Irish theme. Auctions of many donated treasures and a raffle of great prizes and a “pot of gold” helped the club raise the $15,000 donation.

The Lander Rotary Club expects to host the Shindig again next March in the new Lander Community Center. Lander Rotary is proud of this new facility and is pleased to be able to help it become a reality, a news release from the club indicated.

Lander Rotary’s next community fund raising project is the annual July 4th Buffalo Barbecue at Lander City Park following the 4th of July parade. Funds raised at the Shamrock Shindig and Buffalo Barbecue help fund Lander Rotary’s community programs and scholarships.
