Shoshone Lake Road now open; A couple forest roads north of Dubois closed
(Lander, Wyo.) – While some roads in the Shoshone National Forest are open for the season others are remaining closed for some time.
The forest announced yesterday that the Shoshone Lake Road over Cyclone Pass outside of Lander is now open all the way to the lake. The forest said on its official Twitter account that travelers in the area could expect small drifts, but not much snow.
Last week the Louis Lake Road, or Loop Road, was opened in its entirety.
In late May the forest announced two road closures north of Dubois. Parque Creek Road (Rd 504) was closed due to a landslide with no estimated time for re-opening. The road to the old mining of Kirwin was also closed due to debris from an avalanche that occurred some time during the winter. A re-opening date has yet to be determined.
