(Riverton, Wyo.) – Police are looking for a 27-year-old man after he was allegedly involved in a violent domestic abuse attack after striking his 33-year-old girlfriend in the head with a clay plant pot filled with dirt, smashing it. The report came into police at 8:32 p.m. Saturday from the 800 block of Yvonne Drive by the victim. According to a police report, the victim said she was coming home and upon arriving at her residence, she found broken flower pots on the sidewalk and found that her house was in total disarray. When police arrived, the woman was found at the front door, crying.
According to the RPD report, the victim said she found the words “good by” written in dirt on the floor. Her furniture was moved, flower pots and potting soil were strewn around the house, lamps were tossed on the floor and broken, and the baseboard trim along the floor had been ripped from the walls. At that point, the woman said she heard someone coming up from the basement. She said it was her boyfriend, or ex boyfriend now, who grabbed a pot full of dirt and smashed it across her face. She had her cell phone and began calling 911, but the man allegedly took the phone from her and smashed it.
The woman told police the two had been going together for the last four years, but had only been living together for the past couple of months.
The police report indicated a records check was made on the suspect and it turned out that this would not be the first domestic assault attributed to the suspect.
Police took photos of the woman’s injuries and wrote citations that will be issued when the man is found. The woman refused treatment by emergency medical services.
