(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Fremont County Library Foundation is currently conducting a drive to collect funds to refurbish the Community Room at the Riverton Branch Library on West Park at Majors Avenue. Because the room is primarily for community use, private fund raising is being sought. The funds the library receives from the county go to daily operations, collections and to fund a new roof.
“After 30 years of learning, growing, sharing and community building, this room is in need of renovation,” according to a Library Foundation flyer. “Your donation will help pay for new chairs, carpet and a sound system. The approximate cost of purchasing all of these items is $50,000.
The room has seen extensive use, with over 210 groups and organizations, including government, civic, cultural and library groups meeting there just last year alone, totaling about 3,000 people. The Riverton Branch Library itself draws over 300 visits each day.
The Fremont County Library Foundation is a 501c3 organization, meaning that all donations may be tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.
Donations may be left at the front library desk, a donation flyer can be picked up and mailed back to the library or by contacting Gloria at 856-3556 or Tracy at 332-1600, ext. 401.
The library foundation is setting a goal of December 31, 2014 to have raised all of the needed funds.
