(Riverton, Wyo.) – The National Weather Service in Riverton this afternoon issued a special weather statement to note that showers and thunderstorms are developing over the forecast area in response to an upper level disturbance. The statement further indicated that erratic wind gusts to 45 to 55 mph could be expected and small hail is possible with some of the activity through 4 p.m

The storms were moving in a northeasterly direction at 1:45 p.m. The statement is in force for the Lander Foothills, Both sides of the Wind River Range and the Wind River Basin.
