(Lander, Wyo.) – The Shoshone National Forest will open the remaining portion of Louis Lake Rd., FR300, on the Washakie Ranger District this Friday, June 13.
Slow snow melt-off postponed the opening of Louis Lake Rd, also known as the Loop Rd., which normally opens around Memorial Day. The last portion of closed road, from Louis Lake to Worthen Meadows, will officially open for the season tomorrow.
As the nation’s first national forest, the Shoshone National Forest has 2.4 million acres of diverse terrain and a mission to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the forest to meet the needs of present and future generations.
