Cow moose visits Lander early Friday morning

(Lander, Wyo.) – Lander had a visitor this morning in the form of a cow moose. The moose was first reported in the area of Johnson Street at 6:35 a.m. County10 also received a report that it was in the area of the 1000 block of Main Street around 8 a.m.

Lander Police Spokeswoman Ashli Woods said police and Wyoming Game & Fish officials monitored the animal’s behavior for a time. At about 10 a.m. the moose was reportedly tranqualized and loaded into a G&F trailer for relocation. Additional information from G&F was not readily available.

    This is Lander all the way: cow moose (es) behind Subway, mountain lions in the garbage at Mr. D's, and bears in City Park…and being told "Best not to let little guys walk around town as dusk approaches" (not anything to do with robbers, but that it is hunting time for mountain lions).
