Police Blotter: Arrests; Man mistaken for child; Loud party reported at Worthen
(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Here is the weekend recap of law enforcement activity around the county. All those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
Fremont County Sheriff’s Office
Jody Blackburn, 34, Riverton, Failure to Appear Warrant.
Richelle Fox, 35, Ethete, Driving Under the Influence and Driving While Under Suspension. Fox was arrested following a 2:55 p.m., Sunday report of intoxicated subjects in a vehicle on Sinks Canyon Road.
Brandon Smiley, 28, Riverton, Failure to Appear Warrant, Child Endangering, Reckless Endangering, Driving While Under Suspension and Duty to Report Property Damage. Read more about this arrest here.
Steven Willow, 39, Ethete, two Failure to Appear Warrants.
A burglary in Hudson was reported at about 10 a.m. on Friday morning.
At 11:20 a.m., a caller reported seeing a small male child walking on Highway 789 outside of Lander. Deputies made contact with the subject who was determined to be a 20-year-old man, not a child. The man was attempting to walk from Lander to Riverton.
A single vehicle rollover in the Jeffrey City area was reported at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday. There were no injuries. Additional information was not available as the deputy had not yet completed the report.
At 1:38 p.m., the Wyoming Highway Patrol asked for assistance with a possible intoxicated driver on Highway 26 near Dubois. Deputies contacted the vehicle and driver and found everything to be OK.
A Devon Energy employee reported copper wire was stolen from the Beaver Creek area.
At 6:30 p.m. on Friday, a woman in the Riverton area reported receiving a strange text asking her to stop texting someone’s son. The caller then was notified that the text was sent to the wrong number.
At 10:40 p.m., deputies were called to Pleasant Drive in Riverton for a report of a couple people outside huffing air duster. The Sheriff’s Office reports that a deputy made contact with the subjects who had indeed been huffing and advised them to go inside for the night.
Deputies were called to the Garden’s North Subdivision at about 9 a.m. on Saturday for a report of a small child walking down a road alone. Deputies determined the child wandered out of the residence. The case was referred to the Department of Family Services.
At 9:07 a.m., a man on Ramshorn Drive reported that he was having a garage sale and a man allegedly threatened to spray his vehicles with chemicals. The Sheriff’s Office reports that the parties worked out a civil solution to their disagreement.
A minor one vehicle wreck was reported on Burma Road at about 11 a.m. on Saturday. The vehicle reportedly ran off the road and hit a fence. The Sheriff’s Office reports there were no injuries, damage was under $1,000, and there was no impairment on the driver’s part.
At 10:14 p.m., deputies were called to the Worthen Meadows campground for a report of a large party of people being loud and obnoxious. The party had dispersed or quit for the night by the time deputies arrived.
At 1:19 p.m. on Sunday, deputies were called to the 100 block of East Main Street in Riverton for an anonymous report of a suspicious man in a vehicle who hadn’t moved for more than an hour. Deputies determined the man was sleeping.
Deputies took reports of threats Sunday afternoon in the Riverton and Arapahoe areas.
At 8:15 p.m., deputies were called to the Lander area by a woman who said she was getting texts from a little girl saying she needed help. The report was determined to be unfounded.
At 6:31 a.m. on Monday, deputies were called to the 1500 block of East Monroe Avenue for a report of tires slashed on a vehicle.
Lander Police Department
Etta Addison, 57, Lander, Public Intoxication, Shoplifting and Peace Disturbance. Addison’s arrest followed a 2:01 a.m., Saturday call to a business on Main Street.
Katie Large, 25, Lander, Driving Under the Influence. Large was arrested after police were called at 5:03 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a subject that appeared to be intoxicated driving away from a business on East Main Street. The caller observed the vehicle hitting curbs as it left the area.
Chasity Makeshine, 25, Ethete, Peace Disturbance and Public Intoxication. Shyleen Twobulls, 25, Fort Washakie, Disobeying a Lawful Order, Peace Disturbance and Public Intoxication. The pair were arrested after police were called to the area of McDonald’s at 8:36 p.m. on Saturday for a disturbance.
Elijah Crazythunder, 18, Ethete, Driving Under the Influence. Danielle Prins, 18, Lander, Minor Under the Influence and Interference. The pair were arrested following a traffic stop in the area of South First and Sweetwater streets at 12:27 a.m. on Monday.
At 11:08 a.m. on Friday, police were called about a domestic disturbance on Cascade Street. No arrests or citations came from the call.
A black and gray Scott bicycle was reported stolen from a location on Sweetwater Street.
A caller on Friday afternoon reported that there yellow tabby cat had been missing from its home on Canyon Street for three days. The caller thought a nearby juvenile might have taken it.
Vandalism to child’s toy in a yard on South First Street was reported Friday evening around 6 p.m.
At 8:50 a.m. on Saturday, police were called about two little girls walked down the street in the area of South Ninth and Sweetwater streets.
On Sunday morning, a caller asked for a welfare check of their daughter after hearing about possible domestic violence.
At 12:15 p.m. a caller on South First Street reported a stolen iPod.
Police took a report of ‘dumpster divers’ at a business on Main Street Sunday afternoon.
At 7:12 p.m., police were called to a location on Wood Street for a report of two juvenile males “breaking out rocks” at a residence.
